I’m a Christian, wife, mother, photographer, and shoe-addict. Welcome to my site.
We ARE relocating to Northern Virginia in January, and then on to Pinehurst / Fayetteville, NC during the fall of 2010. I'm so excited to come to new areas and meet new families! If you're living in the Northern Virginia / DC area, please email me to schedule!
I have an old torn photograph of my father looking down into the viewfinder of a bellows camera. It makes me remember the way he looked in his dungarees and button up shirt. The way he smelled when he came home from work at the railroad. The way he softly whistled while he wood-worked in the shed. The way his strong, scratchy hands felt on my face. I cherish that image. I want to create images for you to treasure for the rest of your life, and your grand children's lives, just like this one.
I chose the name Organique Photo to reflect my love of natural light and simplicity in my work. I hope that you will grant me the opportunity to photograph you and your family while you are living here in Okinawa. There are many talented photographers to choose from on this tiny island, so I feel blessed each time I am selected. (Read below for some tips when choosing your family photographer.)
I like to offer my clients a wide variety of session and print options, which you may not find elsewhere. Each session is customized to fit your budget and your needs. With today’s tight economy, it’s important that you won’t be purchasing prints that will sit in your filing cabinet and collect dust. That’s why here, you’ll only purchase what you want. If you are in need of monetary assistance, please ask for details about our upcoming contests and give-aways.
I build my company on trust. I hope that you’ll trust me with your memories; and I’ll trust that you’ll make it to your session, tell your friends, and come back for more.
A minimum of 10% of all proceeds will go to either Pioneers, World Vision, or BSF International. Thanks, and may God bless you!
Tips on Choosing the Right Photographer For Your Family:
-View the photographer’s gallery and blog. Make sure you like their style. Check to see if the images are what you’d like for your own family. Do you like the poses? Are the images in focus? Is the focus on the eyes? Are the images processed well? Are there a ton of images with trendy post processing that will age the photos (i.e. heavy vignetting (really dark outer edges), selective coloring (where the entire image is in black and white except for one object, which is in color) or crazy unrealistic colors?
-Check the prices. You can read the consumer guide for custom photography here or you can read here for 10 reasons photographers charge what they do. Remember that cameras and equipment are expensive, and that the time spent during the session should be just a fraction of the total time invested by the photographer. If you want to pay very little for your images, you’ll probably get very little satisfaction out of them. Keep in mind that you’re looking for a custom photographer, not a Wal-mart experience.
-Ask questions. Does the photographer shoot in automatic or manual mode? What programs do they use for processing? Do they own studio lighting? Props? Do they accept credit cards for prints? What products do they offer? Get to know your photographer a little before your session so you’re fully prepared.
-Remember that a custom photography session is not something you do every day. It’s a luxury; a special time to splurge a little on something you don’t do very often, but will remain with you forever.
